Apple filling is our national dish mentioned in culinary history books and in the records of travelers who traveled the territory of Azerbaijan in the 18th and 19th centuries. In addition, in the book "99 recipes of Ottoman cuisine" by the famous historian Marianna Yerasimos, it is written that this dish was prepared for the sultan in the 15th and 16th centuries.

Ingredients:
- 200 g of beef
- 200 g of lamb meat
- 100 g of dried cherries
- 70 g of butter
- 70 g of walnuts
- 4 apples
- 1 medium onion
- abgora
- salt, pepper

Preparation:
Apples are washed, cored and cleaned.
Beef and lamb meat is minced, pomegranate is fried in oil with chopped onions, walnuts, dried cherries and abgora are added to it. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste and mix well. The prepared mixture is filled inside the apples, adding a little water and cooked.

Tip:
Try cooking apple filling in the oven, it is also very tasty.
