Baku Kurabiya
This cookie, named after our capital, is one of the most popular sweets from Soviet times to this day. Light cookies that melt in the mouth like sand are loved by both children and adults due to their light composition.
Ingredients:
For the dough:
- 650 gr of flour
- 500 g of butter
- 250 g of powdered sugar
- 3 egg whites
For the top:
- apple jam
Preparation:
Butter is softened at room temperature, mixed with powdered sugar until it turns white, and egg white is added. The flour is sifted through a sieve in parts, mixed until completely dissolved. The finished dough, which has a similar consistency, is collected in a pastry bag and placed on the baking paper in the form of a flower. The middle of the skin is flattened with a finger, apple jam is added, and it is baked in the oven at 160 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
Tip:
Although the classic shape of the cookie is flower, fish ear and stick shape, you can change both the shape and the toppings according to your taste. It is possible that you use a combination of different fruits.
