How to bathe a newborn baby? 🧼 👶
Bathing newborn babies is a process that requires care and attention. Here are the basic steps on how to bathe a newborn:
After a long wait of 9 months, one of the most pleasant moments experienced by parents who reunited with their baby is when the baby takes its first bath. Bathing a newborn baby can be both exciting and stressful for parents. How to wash a newborn baby, when to take the first bath, what products are needed?
- Preparation:
You can use a special baby bath to bathe your baby. If you don't have a baby bath, you can also use a small bowl or a clean sink.
- Ambient and water temperature:
The water temperature should be warm to bathe the newborn. The optimal water temperature should be between 37-38 degrees Celsius. Before submerging your baby, check the temperature of the water with the inside of your wrist or elbow.
Preparation:
Remove all clothing before bathing the baby. Just keep the bottom closed.
- Gentle and slow movements:
When using baby shampoo, be especially careful not to get it in your eyes. If water or shampoo gets into your eyes, rinse immediately with clean water.
Avoid rough and rubbing movements, as the baby's skin is very sensitive. Bathe your baby with slow and gentle movements.
- Drying and undressing:
After washing the baby, gently dry him by wrapping him in a soft baby towel. Dry thoroughly, especially between skin folds.
Clean the diaper and dress the baby. Make sure to put on a clean diaper immediately after bathing the baby.
Notes:
It is not necessary to bathe the baby every day. For newborn babies, washing 2-3 times a week is enough. However, you should clean your hands, face, and bottom every day.
Prefer special baby shampoos and soaps for washing babies. Products for adults can harm babies' delicate skin.
While bathing the baby, do not use the phone or other distractions and always pay attention to your baby.
If you have any concerns about newborn babies, don't hesitate to contact your baby's doctor. They will guide you further.
